Check out our race coverage from 1998 and 1999. Click here to get your Entry Form Founded in 1993, the September Stride benefits the Richard Rosenbaum Cystic Fibrosis Fund. Amenities include a pasta dinner and running seminar on the eve of the race, cash awards for overall winners and handcrafted age group awards. The USA Track & Field-certified course is designed for fast times, incorporating two fairly flat concentric laps around the Ruby Hospital/WVU Stadium area.
Course: the 5K course is a rolling, two-loop course, with one
water stop and mile split times. It is certified to be accurately
measured. Times: Timing: Professional timing by SERJ Grand Prix: The 5K run is part of the Morgantown Area Grand Prix , sponsored by the Morgantown Roadrunners Club.
Kid Stuff: There will be arts and craft activities throughout
the morning, as well as kids' races starting at 10 a.m. Kids must be
at least one year old to participate in these activities. Other: No dogs, baby strollers, or headphones allowed. 5K Run Prizes: Top three male and female finishers will receive cash prizes. First place - $200, Second place - $125, Third place - $75. Prizes will also be awarded to age group winners. Age group categories include: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 & over. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three males in the heavyweight category (for those males who weigh more than 200 pounds). 5K Walk Prizes: The top three male and female finishers will receive prizes. This is not an officially-judged race walk; however no running is allowed. Employee Prizes: The top three male and female finishers in the 5K Run who work at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center (WVUH, UHA, and Health Sciences at WVU) will receive prizes. Random Drawings: Lots of fun prizes will be awarded at the end of the races.
