The Mount Summit Challenge will be in its 18th year on April
22nd. The race begins in Hopwood on Rt. 40 East and climbs 3.5 miles
to the finish line at the top of the Summit. Reaching the Summit is
an accomplishment that most can only dream of. It is a race not only
about speed, but strength and endurance as well!
A Race with a Reason: The Fayette Striders, along with the
Uniontown law firm of Radcliffe, DeHaas & Monaghan and MADD (Mothers
Against Drunk Driving) have dedicated the Mt. Summit Challenge to aid
in the prevention of drunk driving accidents and deaths. We encourage
all runners and walkers to "get high" naturally and not risk their
lives and the lives of others by drinking and driving. This year, as
in the past, part of the proceeds will go to the Fayette County MADD
Community Action Team.
