Spring Bike Fest 2002

The Third Annual Spring Bike Fest takes place on Saturday and Sunday April 13 and 14, 2002 at the ACE Adventure Center in Oak Hill, WV.

Located adjacent to the New River Gorge National River, this event will again feature the Anguish at Arbuckle Downhill race (Saturday @ 11:00am, Reg. fee $20) and the Minden Mudfest Cross-country race (Sunday @ 12:00pm, Reg. fee $30 Adult - $20 Junior - $5 additional for non-WVMBA members) as well as live music and great food!

The DH race is a two run event with the best combined times producing the winner. The course is technical single track for the first half, finishing with a sprint on forest service style roads to the finish. This 1000' vertical descent will force racers to be technically good and fast, as speeds will range from 30 to 40 mph on the road section of the course! This race will be broken into Male and Female categories and there is a 100% cash payback in each category!

The XC race is the second race of the 2002 West Virginia Mt. Bike Association Point Series (WVMBA Point Series). It will be entirely on single track, including the technical section of the DH course. The course is an eight-mile loop with riders competing on one, two or three laps depending on their class. In the Pro/Expert class there is a 100% cash payback and prizes in all categories will be at least three deep.

Competitors who race both races will receive a five-dollar discount on the combined fees and the first 100 registered participants will also receive a free race T-shirt!

Weekend activities include a Lasagna dinner and live music on Saturday night. Pre-registration for the dinner is recommended. There is free camping for all competitors, or you can upgrade to Chalets and Cabins with satellite TV and Hottubs. Reservations are required for all lodging.
