This was the final Snowflake that I will be race directing. It's sad, but it's something that I need to do for myself and family.

The race went great and with the money left over, we helped kids from the Salvation Army Angel Tree program as well as made donations to food pantries for winter.

There are always stories at races but the best one was Chuck Bryant. He came in from Florida, checked out the course and asked to start early with a flashlight and CamelBak. I wondered why, and then noticed that his right leg was a custom made running prosthetic. He is such a positive person that his attitude carried the entire race. My wife Mary Anne, son Aaron and myself waited as we heard hoops and hollers coming down the final trail. It was Chuck. He told me that he truly was the "last flake" to finish. He was right.

The 10th annual Rattlesnake Trail 50k will be on July 10th, 2003. Look for applications in the near future.
