Run or walk Memorial Day weekend in Point Marion, PA
Held in conjunction with the annual Albert Gallatin Regatta Festival in Point Marion, PA, this Memorial Day weekend event is the first of four evening races in the series. The Regatta Festival events start at Noon, and include a carnival, car show, food vendors, and live entertainment. FIREWORKS AT 9:00 PM, come and make a day of it!
When: Sunday, May 29, 2005 - Regardless of weather!
Where: Point Marion Community Park, Point Marion, Pennsylvania
Registration Location & Times: near starting line at 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.
Awards and Post Race Refreshments: in pavilion near entrance to park
Race Start Times: 5K Run starts at 6:30 p.m., Walk at 6:31 p.m.
Results: Professional timing and finish line results provided by the Morgantown Roadrunners.
Course: A scenic out-and-back, fairly flat course that follows the Monoghahela River
T-Shirts: Guaranteed to all registrations postmarked on or before May 19
Awards:
5K RUN: Top three overall Male & Female, and
Top three Male and Female finishers in the following age groups:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over
5K WALK: Top three overall male & female, and
Top two male & female finishers in the following age groups:
19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over
Walkers must abide by sanctioned race walking rules. Course will be monitored for compliance!
Entry Fee:
$14.00 - must be postmarked May 19 (after this date no shirt guaranteed)
$17.00 - day of race
Proceeds: Proceeds from the2005 Albert Gallatin Regatta 5K benefit the Ken Frankenberry HUCB Fund. Ken is a Point Marion, PA resident and long time member of the WV Track Club, who is afflicted with Lou Geherig's Disease. This fund was established to help defray Ken's medical expenses.
