Everyone's a winner tonight!

Moving the Sprint, Splash 'n Spin Kids Triathlon to Friday evening was a good idea. The night was cool, even a little rainy, but what kid doesn't enjoy hopping in the puddles? The race was exciting with over 65 children participating.

The children's event is a special attraction. While young, future triathletes competed in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, parents, grandparents, and friends cheered and raised cameras at the finish line.

On this day, everyone was a winner. Although there are results posted for the children's events, everyone was urged to participate. There were an unlimited number of kids who raced, and all children were awarded a medal.

The course for children (under 14) consisted of a 66 yard swim (2 lengths of Marilla Pool), a 1.5 mile bike on a paved section of the Mon River Rail-Trail, and a half mile run on paved roads closed to traffic.
