The time is right. The invitation is out. Over $65,000 and countless man hours put in. Only you determine if 3 days on a mountain bike in western West Virginia is worthy of the investment. Staged racing with a cumulative total time over 3 days will decide the winner of the 2006 Dirt Bag Cup. This is separate from Sunday's WVMBA series classes, which will remain the same. Saturday's shuttle space is limited so pre-registration is required. The Kanawha Trace and Adahi Trail are local Boy Scout trails that travel back county roads and through the woods on private lands, making for a truly unique journey. Designed as a hiking trail it has been open to multi-use non-motorized travel for the past 45 years.

Friday, Sept. 29th, 6:00 pm ---- KTTT
Opening Time Trial features 4 miles of cross country BSA trail. A 1 mile single-track climb followed by two shortish up and downs with a downhill finish into Big Cabell Creek. KT miles 0-5 / traveling east

The Assualt is a day long cross country ride to include the Adahi Trail & Kanawha Trace. A shuttle vehicle(s) will be available for you and your bike. We will be parking at mile 0 and shuttling riders and bikes to Hurricane (behind Saturn) for a 15-20 mile long prelude to fun, before hitting the off road trail head at mile 31. At least 2 timed stages; one going in and the other going out. A trail lunch stop will be served along Barkers Ridge. There may be times when a time cut is imposed in order to keep the group moving and to complete Trace in a somewhat timely manner. We can expect to wait around 20 minutes during the regroupings. If it becomes apparent that a rider's abilities/circumstances impede the natural progression of the group they may be rerouted or sagged. (The classic bail)

About the Location: Barboursville Community Park located in Barboursville, WV is over 750 acres of well-designed landscaped park. Directions: Park Entrance is 1.7 miles from Interstate 64 at exit 18 turn toward rt60. At the light on rt60 turn right (west). From the next turning lane (100yds) turn left on Main Street, this will take you to the next signal light turn left for one block and turn right (at the next light). This road winds left and right past Barboursville Grade School and the VFD, at the first 4way stop sign turn left for one block and make a right (yield sign) on Martha Road. Park entrance is about a half mile on the right. If you start going downhill you've gone too far. Look for white signs thru downtown directing towards Barboursville Park. The town has a no sign policy, so event signs will not be apparent. Event venue is at picnic shelters on top of the hill in the park, again if you start going down hill you have gone past the last turn.
