Celebrating the 24th Annual Scenic Mountain Triathlon sponsored by Alpha Natural Resources and Brooks Run Mining. This very scenic race which is entirely within the Monongahela National Forest. This is a well organized race, family friendly event. Pre-race pasta dinner on Saturday night in historic Richwood, WV is free to all racers and open to the public. Enjoy a post-race cookout at finish line.

This is a USAT sanctioned event.

Course Description

• Swim: 0.5 miles in Summit Lake
• Bike: 17.1 miles from Summit Lake to Cranberry Mountain Nature Center on State Rt. 39/55 (Hard Surface Road with Hills.)
• Run: 6.2 miles total 3.1 miles back to Cranberry Glades and 3.1 miles back to Cranberry Mtn. Nature Center. (Rolling Terrain.)

• Saturday, July 11 - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Knights of Columbus Hall, Richwood.
• Sunday, July 12, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Summit Lake.
• Orientation at 9:30 a.m. everyone must attend.

Race day registration and race start is at Summit Lake located 8 miles East of Richwood, WV 26261 on Route 39/55.

Pre-Race Pasta Dinner on July 11

Is from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Richwood, WV. (Next to Foodland). Free for competitors. Guests are $6.00. Children 5 and under eat free.
