Run Forrest...Run!
(Cross-country 5K run and 5K walk)
2nd Race of the 1998 Morgantown Grand Prix
On a beautiful spring day with temperatures in the low 50s to 60s, in
the hills of Morgantown, WV runners and walkers alike ventured out
into the woods for the annual Run Forrest... Run! Cross Country 5K
run/walk where it is not recommended that you wear your new shoes!
Runners encountered dirt roads, off-road trails, logs, rocks,
boulders, a lake and best of all the true beauty of WV in the spring
time.
The race wound through the Camp Mountaineer land starting and
finishing at the camp pavilion where hotdogs, soda, chips and cookies
were provided for the runners and their families prior to the awards
ceremony. Awards were presented to the top 5 male and female walkers
and the top 15 male and female runners. No age groups were specified.
The race was sponsored by the WV Track Club.
