Demo Days- Snowshoe
Riding the Rail at Demo Days
Demo Days was a big success as 6,000 people came out to Snowshoe Mountain, where an out west atmosphere goes hand-in-hand with their West Virginia, down-home hospitality.

The bright sponsor tents were set up at the top of Skidder slope. This seemed to be a strategically planned spot, since many skiers and boarders literally fell off the lift and slid right into the sponsors! Snowshoe's marketing staff was all smiles as they handed out free coffee and danishes to the huge number of snow-goers who tried out the latest gear on the snowpacked slopes.

Burton's Olympic Rider
A very special demo guest greeted lots of young snowboarders at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning with a smile, and a ride down the mountain. Burton's Olympic speed demon and Big Air rider, Victoria Jealouse spent a lot of time with her fans. The gracious Canadian "Burton Hostess" was an Olympic bound downhill skier (yes, skier) in 1988, until she got her feet on a snowboard. She has skied for 15 years, and 7 of those years were spent racing, so Jealouse is no stranger to competition.

Jealouse is certainly a rising star in the growing sport of snowboarding. Want to know more? Check out some of her riding history at Snowboarding-Online.com.

Tuning up the boards for riders to try them out on the slopes
Though the demand for snowboards is on the rise, Snowshoe's Demo Days was not without it's groups of dedicated skiers either. Many skiers made their "S-Turns" down the slopes on all different kinds of skis, thanks to some of the companies that were there like K2, and Rossignol to name a few.

Special thanks goes out to the many other sponsors that were a part of Demo Days such as, Burton, Ride, Airwalk, Salomon, MLY Snowboards, Head, Dynastar, Volant, and of course Steve Rice, & Joe Stevens of Snowshoe Mountain Resort for making the fantastic dream winter weekend a reality. If you don't have any plans yet for bringing in the new millennium, then this would be the place to be.
