Pipestem Pumpkin Run
Guilty, or having fun?
Cool Temperatures and cloudy skies greeted a group of runners out to conquer a challenging but scenic run through Pipestem State Park this Saturday for the 23rd Annual Pumpkin 5K and 10K Run. As the runners sprung from the start line and headed up a short steep incline, each group then heading in a different direction for their respective race. The 5K turned to the right and angled toward the main gate while the 10K turned to the left, where they were met with a series of challenging hills.

As the group of runners pounded the pavement and pushed up the steep hills they could enjoy the beauty of the park in its peak of fall colors and plenty of wildlife watching from the edges of the forest as the ran past.

Finishing strong in the 5K was Larry Taylor of Beckley with a time of 16:30. Also capturing the top honors was Tim Howard of Beckley for a second place overall finish and Mark Moshier of Pineville with a third place overall finish.
