Ready, set, go....
Kicking off the Christmas holiday season was the Annual Jingle Bell Run and Walk in Huntington. As runners gathered at the Huntington Civic Arena the sounds of jingle bells could be heard through out. Could it be Santa? No, just a cheerful but cold and snowy group of runners and walkers out to ring in the holiday spirit. Delivering these cheers through out the flat festive city streets, were over 118 joyful runners and walkers competing for a great cause, the Arthritis Foundation. Cabell Midland senior, Rebecca Spears represented the arthritis foundation by starting these bells a jinglin'.

The holiday season for Randy Gibbs and Sue McGhie got a little happier with a first place overall win. Their times respectively were 16:33 and 19:07. Let's see Santa's reindeer beat those times! Also crossing the finish line for second and third place finish was father and son team, Duane (18:15) and David Dombek (18:12) with son finishing just three seconds ahead. Rounding out the first three female finishers were Joy Vincent (20:02) and Missy Jordon (22:16).

Jingle Bell
Donner? Blitzen? ... Spot!
Bringing in an early Christmas present for the Arthritis Foundation was Patricia Loehr who raised $70.00 in sponsors.

As the runners and walkers gathered inside for the awards ceremony they were invited to enjoy a pancake breakfast with Santa. This fun and jolly event was made possible through the many volunteers and sponsors. Just to name a few, race director Ron Alford, Huntington Track Club, Huntington Greater Parks and Recreation, RRCA and WSAZ. A special holiday thank you to Tom Plummer and his team for providing the race results. Merry Christmas to all and to all a healthy run.
