I ran in the Debbie Green. It was some event!! That is the biggest race that I have participated in since the marathon that I ran on Kiowa Island in S.C. last December.

The weather was brutal. Hot (it felt like 95 degrees) and humid (all of us were drenched with perspiration at the end of the race) with several runners overcome from heat exhaustion. I saw one runner taken away in an ambulance as I finished and I know of another excellent runner (female) that intended on running in the 19:00's that dropped out. One formar high school and college female athlete pushed her two very young twins in the race. She told me after the race that it was more difficult to do that than she thought it would be but she still finished in under 31:00.

Race management was excellent and the event raised somewhere in the neighborhood of $13,000 to $14,000 for the young man. They had many prizes to give away and excellent food was available for all runners and walkers at the finish.
