The first annual Goshen Half Marathon was held on Saturday March 9th in Goshen, Virginia. The race featured a nice flat course that the runners enjoyed.

Danny Fink of Swoope, Virginia ran away with the men's race. Fink took the lead a quarter mile into the race and extended his lead to the finish. Fink blistered the course in 1:07:48, a 5:10 per mile pace. Fink has been training 140 miles per week for his first marathon. A slight injury prevented him from running the Las Vegas Marathon last month, but he took advantage of his fitness to set a half-marathon P.R.

Eric Sheppard from Syracuse, New York, was in the area, visiting friends, placed second in 1:12:58.

In the women's division Kim Sorenson, who just moved to the area from Montana, ran a strong race to finish in 1:25:55. Susan Hartless of Roanoke, Virginia placed second in the women's race with a time of 1:32:10
