Trotting down the hill
The Run for Men's Health didn't get spoiled by rain, as a matter of fact, temperatures were perfect for running. This was the 4th race of the Morgantown Area Grand Prix Series and with over 100 participants, it's holding it's own among the ranks.

Since it's first event 5 years ago, the Run for Men's Health course has been one of the most unique in the series. It's the only one that requires a shuttle, and it drops almost 400 ft. in elevation from start to finish. The course is through Chestnut Ridge State Park, which makes it feel like more of a trail run than the road run that it is.

Happy to finish with friends
Winner of last year's 26th Annual Monongalia Valley Bank Fairmont 10K, Morgantown runner Will Hunter, kept a 5:26 pace to win the 5K in 16:53. Also of Morgantown, seventeen year old Joel Massullo (17:25) finished 2nd, with Steve Winters (17:27) rounding out the top spots in 3rd.

Amy Czesnwski was first to cross the line for the women with a time of 20:41. In 2nd was fourteen year old Lyndsay Wyatt (22:04), of Morgantown, and all the way from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Kim Keever (22:09) finished 3rd. At post-race time folks crowded the pavilion for snacks and prizes.

Don't miss the next Morgantown Area Grand Prix (MAGP) event, the Albert Gallatin Regatta 5K on Sunday, May 29. Held in conjunction with the annual Albert Gallatin Regatta Festival in Point Marion, PA, this event is the first of four evening races in the series.
