SNOWSHOE, W.Va. + Snowshoe Mountain is once again cookin' for its annual Blues, Brews and BBQ event, August 15-17. With comfortable summer temperatures that leave the rest of the region envious, Snowshoe will be the perfect place to spend this smokin' weekend. Enjoy the tasty food, "bottomless" beer mug and amazing live blues music, as well as the family-friendly summer activities Snowshoe offers all season long.

Blues, Brews and BBQ has become a classic Snowshoe event, combining sizzling food sampling, refreshing beers from regional microbreweries and music that will get you grooving. The Southeast Tourism Society recognized the event as one of the Top 20 in the region for 2007.

This year, Snowshoe's official vehicle provider, Subaru, kicks off the weekend with a Friday-night tailgate party. Guests will get to sip some suds and kick the tires on great Subaru vehicles while one of the region's best blues acts gets things off to a rocking start on the Village stage. Before Saturday's Main Event in The Village, hundreds of bikers will take on the 4th Annual Cheat Mountain Challenge and test their skill and endurance over more than 100 miles of scenic riding. After, they will quench their thirst with great brews and refuel with mouth-watering bar-b-que, while keeping their feet moving to the sounds of KJ James, Wallace Coleman, Larry Taylor and others.

With fall just around the corner, Snowshoe has several events in coming weeks that will help you make the most of the end of the summer season. Following Blues, Brews and BBQ, the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra visits the mountaintop Aug. 22-24.

The annual event, which features several special performances, will also play host to the WV Butterfly Festival. Snowshoe will celebrate Labor Day weekend with a concert from country superstars Diamond Rio. Aug 29-Sept. 1 will also feature the final leg of the 2008 Powerade $25,000 mountain bike race series. Snowshoe's annual Oktoberfest celebration will kick off September the 5th-7th, followed by the adrenaline-fueled GNCC off-road race series September 13-14.
