Course [MAP]

The race will be started in waves of approximately 10-participants per minute depending upon the number of entries. For the first leg of the race, competitors will begin on the picnic area road before splitting off into the forest near the Rock City Trail. The race course will then wind through the forest along the Rock City and Ridge Trails. These trails are rocky at times and the terrain is rolling. At the end of the first run, competitors will enter into the transition area which will be located in the gravel lot across from the "climbers" parking area.

After mounting their bikes competitors will race down the Road Side Trail for approximately 3 miles until it intersects with the Clay Furnace Road. Following the edge of the C.F. Road for only about 100 yds., racers will then turn left back into the woods on the Cross-Country Ski Trail. After taking another left onto the Intermediate Loop, racers will tackle a short descent before climbing back up to the ridge top and heading towards the reservoir. The bike course will then turn right and descend a gravel and dirt road towards the Clay Furnace area. After reaching the bottom of this hill racers will grind back up to the ridge top on single and dual track trails until they intersect again with the Road Side Trail near the reservoir. The bike course ends with a final stretch along the Road Side Trail back to the transition area. The bike course is mildly technical and fast.

Upon completion of the bike course, participants will re-enter the transition area, drop their bikes, and head out for a second loop of the opening run before finishing on the trail below the transition area.
