Two transition areas are on the course. The finish is in the Resort area near the Hotel, very spectator friendly.
Swim // 750 meters, Lake
The 750 meter swim will be in the beautiful Chatham Lake. The lake surrounds the resort and the mountains. Waves and chop are light and water quality is excellent. The swim course is a triangle shaped course. Participants exit the water and run about 10 yards to the transition area.
Bike // 12-Miles, Road
The bike course is a one loop course on smooth roads. The course has a few challenging hills but they are well worth the view at the top. Police and volunteers man each intersection and turns are marked with directional signs.
Run // 3.1- Miles
The 5K run is an out & back course. The run consist of no major hills and provides a great view of the Resort and the Chatham Lake. Aid stations are positioned every 1.5 miles.
Registration / Fees

- Before June 26, 2009: / Individual Participant: $60.00, Relay Team: $90.00
- Before July 24, 2009 / Individual Participant: $70.00, Relay Team: $100.00
- Before August 15, 2009 / Individual Participant: $80.00, Relay Team: $110.00
- $10.00 additional fee for each non-USAT registrant
- Race cap is 200 participants
Packet Pick-Up
- Friday, August 14th (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM), at The Glade Springs Resort, and
- Saturday, August 15th (6:00 AM - 7:30 AM), at Race Site
Photo ID is required for packet pick-up. Everyone must pick up their own race packet (including relay team members).
USA Triathlon requires that all USAT annual members must show their USAT membership card at packet pick-up. Any USAT annual member who does not present his/her valid membership card at packet pick-up, will be required to pay the USAT one-day fee of $10.
Participant Meeting
A participant orientation meeting will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 14th at the event site (Transition Area Location). We will cover as many details as possible about the event and questions will be encouraged. This meeting should last about 30 minutes - we encourage everyone to attend as limited event details will be discussed on event morning.
Cut-Off Time
All participants must complete the race in under 3 hours. Race officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to meet the above time requirement.

Clydesdales (Males - 200 Lbs +), Masters Clydesdales (Males - 200 Lbs +, 40 & Over), Athenas (Females - 150 Lbs +), Relay Teams (one category)
