The 28th annual Revenge of the Rattlesnake Race is possibly one of the longest running mountain events around. Food and beverage provided as always post-race for the awards ceremony behind Blackwater Bikes shop (downtown Davis).

• $35 for WVMBA members, $40 for non members

The often changing course this year will be mostly Blackwater Falls State park trails, and Canaan Mountain USFS trails. The course will be approximately 34 miles. There will be a cutoff right before pointy knob trail at the checkpoint in which you have to make in 3.5hrs. if not, you will bypass pointy knob and pickup the rest of the course back, so you will be counted as doing the shorter course. You may also opt to do the short course version (29 miles) by choice, but will not be in contention for cash or prizes, but will still be counted in the standings. There will be 2 checkpoint/aid stations, which you may leave a bag of food or whatever at.

The race first began in 1983, and became part of the Canaan Mountain Series back in 1984 and has been a series race ever since, as well as a popular attraction to riders from surrounding states as well as a few locals. Some locals who ride the trails all the time or have participated in the race, don't want any part of this race because they know what is in store!
