About the Park
North Bend was named for the horseshoe curve of the North Fork of the Hughes River, North Bend State Park offers a multitude of recreational facilities in a beautiful pastoral setting.

The park also features the 72 mile North Bend Rail Trail,which is a trail designed for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The rail trail runs along the old B & O Railroad bed from Parkersburg, WV to Wolf Summit, near Clarksburg, WV.

Directions
Located in the north-western section of the state, North Bend is easily accessible from four-lane U.S. 50 which stretches across north central West Virginia from Parkersburg to Clarksburg. Driving east, take U.S. 50 to the junction of WV 31 (21 miles).
Follow "Mt. Bike Race" signs from US Route 50 to the race course.
Take WV31 to Cairo and follow signs to the park. Driving west, take WV 16 to Harrisville and follow signs to the park. Consult your highway map for further details.
Kids Race
A half mile course will be utilized for the kid's race. It will be run in an open meadow that will be mowed grass and a small section of trail in the woods. The course will have some man-made obstacles that will require a minimal skill to negotiate. This event will be a timed event and racers will ride to compete for time and not against each other. The kid's race will have a staggered start. There will be a prize for each child that enters. A pre-race bike check will be available prior to the race. Parents/guardians must sign a waiver.
Cross Country Race
Beginner (8 miles), Sport (14 miles) and Expert (21 miles) course will be the same as the last two years. However, there may be a change in travel direction on different areas of the trails. Cash prizes (100% payback) for Expert class and prize table for Sport and Beginner racers.
Amount of cash prizes and depth of prize table (bike supplies, clothing and gift cards) selection will be determined by the number of entrants in each class. First male and female expert and sport finisher will each receive additional $100.00 along with regular prize.
Spaghetti dinner after the race for all participants and families.
