towards the score. Teams can be from two categories: paddling clubs and an
open category. For the first, teammates must be current members of the
paddling club. The second category, open,is comprised of people belonging or
working for any company. This could include rafting outfitters, kayaking

RACE DESCRIPTION: This is a downriver race. The race begins
with a "mass" start about 1/2 mile above decision rapid. Everybody
fires off at the same time, competing head to head and paddling down
the river. The Cheat race is one of the few races in the world doing
this. If you don't know the river real well, there will be plenty of
people to follow. The race continues for 10 miles down to the take out
(finish line).
