WHEN: Saturday, June 24, 2000

TIME: Individual "heats" begin between 6:30-8:15 a.m.; relay heats begin thereafter. (12 competitors in each "heat" - 6 at each end of the pool - every 6 minutes) Call the Asbury United Methodist Church (724) 437-7525 Thursday or Friday, June 22 or 23 to learn your assigned start time.

PLACE: Registration, Start, and Finish all are at the Uniontown Sr. High School

RACE: Swim: 200 yards ( 8 lengths) in High School Swimming Pool
             Bike: 10.3 mile route from High School and back (helmut required)
             Run: 4.25 miles through Uniontown ending at the High School Stadium.

RACE DESCRIPTION: The race, unchanged since its inception, is fun, challenging and well volunteered. A dash of a swim. A bike course of railroad tracks and hills. And a great run through town, ending up at the fifty yard line of the school stadium.

ENTRY FEES: until June 14: $24 individual; $19 each relay team member.
                          after June 14: $27 individual; $21 each relay team member.
Registration Deadline: June 21, 2000

AWARDS: given to the male and female winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd), to the male and female winners (1st, 2nd ,3rd) in each age category, and to the 1st place team in each relay

All participants will receive a long-sleeve "T" shirt, fruit and drink at the finish line. Late registrations will not be guaranteed a shirt. Also, a free spaghetti dinner will be served on Friday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the United Asbury Methodist Church for those registered for the race.

From Morgantown: Go north on Rt. 119 (or Rt. 857 to Rt. 43 to Rt. 119). As you approach Uniontown, take the "Main Street" exit and turn right onto Business Rt. 40 East. Continue about a mile to the high school.

From Pittsburgh: Go south across the Liberty Bridge, through the Liberty Tunnel, and turn left onto Rt. 51 South. Continue on Rt. 51 (one hour) into downtown Uniontown. Turn left onto Business Rt 51. Continue for a mile to the high school.

From the West: Take Rt. 40 East past the Uniontown Mall and into Uniontown. The high school is on the right.

From the East: Take Rt. 40 West. After passing the Summit Hotel at the top of the Chestnut Ridge Mountain, go to the bottom of the mountain where you will join the new Rt.19 "bypass" of Uniontown. Take the Rt. 40 exit off the bypass and turn right onto Business Rt. 40 East. Continue over a mile to the high school.
