2000 Paul Bunyan MTB Race
The second leg of the X-Treme challenge - the Paul Bunyan MTB Race - offers a challenging opportunity for all. The course starts in Bergoo with the first leg of the journey taking the riders up a steep and challenging fire road climb. The couse then follows a rugged singletrack/ATC trail with several stream crossings (bring your waders if it's raining). For the Expert classes, you get to go back out for a second lap. The couse is technical but very rideable and the scenery is beautiful. A cookout and awards ceremony follows the race.
For those who like an extra challenge, the Woodchopper
Classic road race takes place on Saturday at 2 pm. Either bring
your road bike or put slicks on your mountain bike.
Entry Fee: $30 ($5 discount for WVMBA members)
Start Time: 1:00 pm
Directions:
From the North/West: From the I-79 Flatwoods exit - take Rt. 15 to Webster Springs
From the South/East: From Beckley - take Rt. 20 North to Webster Springs. At the traffic light in Webster Springs, follow Rt. 15.
