Established in 1987, Gene's Run has become a local favorite. This 4-mile event, staged in the vicinity of that most venerable of local landmarks, Gene's Place, is the 2nd of only 2 evening races on the circuit and the only entry that is not of a standard 5 or 10K distance. The summer weather and rolling course pose a challenge that is well rewarded with free beverages, soft drinks and fruit, courtesy of Gene's.

Start Times: Run starts at 6:00 PM, Walk directly afterwards

Entry Fees:
Pre-registration is $12.00 if paid by July 26, 2001.
Late registration after that is $15.00.

Race Day Registration: will be at 4:30 PM in the parking lot at the corner of Wilson Ave. & Green Street.

Run: Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Male and Female runners. The number of awards for both male and female runners are indicated in parenthesis following the age category below:

10 & under (1)	35-39 (3)
11-14 (2)	40-44(3)
15-19 (3)	45-49 (3)
20-24 (3)	50-54 (3)
25-29 (3)	55-59 (3)
30-34 (3)	60 & over (2)

One trophy deep in each age group.

Race Route:

• Assembly Point: Gene's parking lot, Wilson and Green
• Start at Green and Arch
• Continue on Wilson crossing Kingwood, Washington, Ash, Park and Grand
• Go past Morgantown High School and turn right onto Allison
• Left onto Wagner from Allison
• At the end of Wagner turn left onto Dorsey
• Up Dorsey and turn right onto West Virginia
• Left onto Leonard
• Left onto Madison
• Right onto Hite, continuing through White Park
• Right on Mississippi to Madigan
• Madigan to Barrickman
• Barrickman to Dorsey
• Return to Gene's, duplicating the starting route.
• Finish line: Wilson Avenue in front of Gene's at Alley.

Directions to Gene's:
Take exit 4 off of I-68, west on Rt. 7 to Morgantown and then follow the signs.
