Racing up the gorge at Captain Thurmond's

Some changes in the works for 2002:

• A change in the paddling section so that it will include nothing more than Class II & III Whitewater
• It's being held on a Saturday rather than the usual Friday race day
• Added this year is the Captain Thurmond 5K & Kid's Challenge

A Triathlon in the heart of West Virginia. This non traditional triathlon features some very hard mountain biking featuring a lemans start, kayaking or rafting through the New River's rapids and a cross-country run to finish the race. There is over $10,000 in prizes and cash given out to those that conquor the Captains Challenge.
