This year we have a "challenging course" that runs from just inside the FBI entrance, to the parking area in front of the main CJIS office complex building (1.58 miles) circling through this area and then back to the Jerry Dove Drive entrance. Jerry Dove Drive is named in honor of West Virginia native, Special Agent Jerry Dove. Agent Dove was killed in the line of duty on April 11, 1986, during a shootout with two serial bank robbers while assigned to the Miami Division.

The race is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Recreation Association (FBIRA), a non-profit organization which encourages athletic, recreation and overall fitness activities among FBI employees and the communities that they server.

Location: FBI CJIS Complex, I-79 Exit 124 Jerry Dove Drive, Clarksburg, West Virginia

Parking: All race participants will park at the FBI CJIS Vistors Center located off exit 124. Race volunteers will assist with parking.

Course Description: The 2002 FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5k, a somewhat challenging out and back paved course, starts and finishes on Jerry Dove Drive inside the East Security Gate on the FBI CJIS Division Complex. The race runs along Jerry Dove Drive toward the main CJIS facility where runners will loop around a portion of the parking area and return to the start/finish area.

A water stop will be set up at approximately miles one and two on the course. A warm-up spectator area will be set up near the start/finish line. Due to the location of the race, no one will be permitted on the course prior to the start of the race, and only race participants will be allowed on the course after the race begins.

Walkers are welcome. No bicycles, strollers, or roller blades will be permitted.

Race Day Registration Registration will be held on Race Day from 7:30-8:30 AMXS at the FBI CJIS Vistors Center. Race packets for pre-registered runners/walkers can be picked up at the FBI CJIS Visitors Center from 7:30 AM until race time.

Shirts/Awards/Door Prizes/Refreshments:

• T-shirts: are guaranteed to all participants who registration forms are postmarked on or before September 7, 2001, thereafter, T-shirts will be provided to participants only while supplies last.

• Door Prizes and Refreshments: will be given out at the FBI CJIS Vistors Center immediately following the race.

• 5k Run Awards: will be presented to the first 3 male and female finishers in the age categories indicated below, and to the overall top three male and female finishers.
