About Beth Bonner: Born and raised in Preston County, Beth Bonner was the world record holder in the women's marathon in 1971. At the age of 19, she became the first woman to run a marathon under 3 hours, a feat she set at the 1971 New York City Marathon. Beth died in 1998 as a result of a biking accident.

Race Details:

  • The 5K run and 2-mile walk will be held at Arthurdale Heritage Museum grounds, 9:00 a.m.

  • The Course - Runs flat on the community roads of historic Arthurdale

  • Registration will be at 8:00 + 8:45 a.m. at AHI Center Hall on race day

  • Run Age Groups - 10-under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-over

  • Walk Age Groups - 10-under, 11-16, 17-39, 40-59, 60-over

Awards: Overall male and female runners and top three male and female in each age group for run & walk

Entry Fee: $15 pre-registered before July 4; $20 after July 4 and day of race. T-shirts are guaranteed to pre-registered participants only. Make non-refundable checks payable to: Arthurdale Heritage, Inc.

Other Details: Restrooms and changing facilities are limited. Arthurdale is located off of Route 92 South, 1 mile from Reedsville. For more information about the New Deal Festival visit www.arthurdale.org.
