- Law Enforcement Challenge
This first annual challenge is a 2 man team (uniformed LEOs from same agency/same post) best time wins bragging rights & beautiful "traveling" trophy for their agency to display throughout the year + each member of the team gets their own smaller version of this trophy to keep as their own. Captain Robert Tomasik, FBI Police can provide additional details if requested to robert.tomasik@ic.fbi.gov.

We are recognizing six individuals who have run in all 10 races (well, 9 previous & are scheduled to run in this year's event) with a special plaque & commemorative gift.

Rogers & Mazza's grilled pepperoni rolls, plus Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream, Chick Fil A will be giving out Chicken Sandwiches too plus all of the usual participant replenishment food items including Culligan Water, Pepsi juices, PowerAde, Kroger Fruit, and Panera Bagels.

Registration
- Print your [ Entry Form ] $15 Entry Fee
- Pre-registration is highly encouraged, shirts & patches are guaranteed only to persons pre-registered on or before September 7th.
- Race Day Registration will be held on race day, Saturday, September 25, from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at the Visitors Center.
- No refunds will be given. Race will be held rain or shine.
Packet Pick-Up

All persons registered before September 7, may pick up their packet at the Visitors Center on Friday evening, September 24, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. or on the morning of the race.
All packets must be picked up before 8:30 a.m. on race day. Chips will be given out on race day only and must be returned immediately following the race.

Kids-K
ALL children preregistered will receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal. Please indicate "KIDS-K Participant" on the attached application.

Awards
Heavyweight, long-sleeved T-Shirts and commemorative patches are guaranteed only to participants whose registration forms are pre-registered, thereafter, T-shirts will be provided to participants only while supplies last. You will be provided with the size of race shirt indicated on your form if you are pre-registered.

5K Run awards will be presented to the first three male and female finishers in the age categories indicated below, and to the overall top three male and female finishers:
19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, *60-64, *65-69, *70 +

Door prizes and refreshments (water, juice, fruit, bagels, cookies) will be given out immediately following the race.
Course
This is a somewhat challenging out and back paved course, starts and finishes on Jerry Dove Drive inside the East Security Gate on the FBI CJIS Division Complex. The race runs along Jerry Dove Drive toward the main CJIS facility where runners will loop around a portion of the parking area and return to the start/finish area. Walkers will start immediately after runners. Chip-timing will be provided by Miles of Smiles timing services.
A water stop will be set up at approximately miles one and two on the course. A warm-up/spectator area will be set up near the start/finish line. Due to the location of the race, no one will be permitted on the course prior to the start of the race, and only race participants will be allowed on the course after the race begins.
Walkers are welcome. No bicycles, strollers, or roller blades will be permitted. Cameras are allowed only at the start and finish line area. No cameras are allowed on the course at any time. The FBIRA will have FBI and Race Day memorabilia available for purchase on race day. Children must not be left unattended at any time.
About Jerry Dove
The roadway where this 5K race is to occur, is named in honor of late Special Agent (SA) Jerry Dove, a native West Virginian. Prior to his FBI Career, he was attached to the West Virginia State Police as an Attorney Advisor while employed by the West Virginia Office of the Attorney General. While assigned to the FBI's Miami Division, SA Dove was killed in the line of duty in a shoot out with two serial bank robbers in the infamous "Miami Firefight" on April 11, 1986. Also killed was SA Ben Grogan. SA Dove has been honored for his heroic actions at numerous memorial services in Miami, District of Columbia, and Clarkburg, WV.
The FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K is dedicated to the memory of SA Dove and to all Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, Military Personnel, and others who have been killed while serving in the line of duty.
