The Sixth Animal Upper Gauley Race was a WILD success! This year's race had perfect blue skies and 2,200 c.f.s of some of West Virginia's finest bubbly... Gauley Style!

Over 70 competitors came out to race in kayaks, C1s, canoes, and rafts for over $4,000 in cash and prizes. The race went smoothly, with a coule of exciting finishes at Sweet's Falls (You know who you are...)

The post-race awards party, at NARR's High Country Cafe, was also quite a success. Proceeds from this event, almost $1,000, will benefit the AWA Watauga Access Fund and the Sherwood Horine's Children's Education Fund.
