Pounding the surf at Cucumber Rapid

The Mid-Atlantic Paddlers Association (Plainview, VA) and Riversport School of Paddling (Confluence, PA) hosted the 2001 WWOCD National Championships on the lower section of the Youghiogheny River. The four days of racing for the 2001 Nationals were Monday through Thursday; July 30 to 2 August. iPlayOutside caught the action at all four days of downriver and sprint racing and we've got all the results. Arrangements were made for constant releases to keep the river over 2 feet for the entire event:

• Day #1 Water Level was 2' 1"
• Day #2 Water Level was 2' 4"
• Day #3 Water Level was 2' 4"
• Day #4 Water Level was 2' 2.5"
