Pepsi Cola and Mountwood Park have teamed up for the Second Annual Pepsi Volcano Days 5K Trail Run and Walk to be held on September 28th. The cross-country course circumnavigates Mountwood Park's lake, finishing in the heart of the 14th Annual Volcano Days Festival. It was a perfect morning for a run in 2001, the temperature was in the lower 60's and the trail conditions were dry and fast. The 93 runners who participated raised almost $2,900 for a local charity.

Last year the race proceeds were donated to the Family Crisis Intervention Center of Region Five Incorporated. The donation of $2,900.00 was given to the center. This would not have been possible if it were not for the generosity of the race sponsors; Pepsi Cola, Big Bear, Taco Bell, West Virginia Central Credit Union, Colombo's Restaurant and On The Run.

This year the charity that all proceeds of the race will be donated to is The Platelet Disorder Support Association (P.D.S.A.). This organization is to help support children and their families that have to deal with rare auto immune disorders. They need my company's and your company's support. More information on P.S.D.A. can be reached at www.pdsa.org or by calling (877) 528-3538.
