Race Pic
A crowded Friday night on the Caperton Trail
A perfect window of opportunity opened as the evening came and the clouds cleared for a beautiful Friday evening race. A great crowd came out to enjoy some exercise and a night out at Morgantown's own West Virginia Brew Pub.

The usual Morgantown running crew turned out for the much anticipated race, along with some new road racing gurus.

Zach Sabatino and Tyler Devault are just two of the 56 young men who lost their teams in budget cuts in the WVU Athletic Department this year. They have been making the best of their training by hitting the roads big this summer. The two have gone 1-2 in quite a few races already this summer, leaving many in their wake.

Post Race
Living it up at the WV Brew Pub
Sabatino placed first in the 5 miler with a time of 25:29. Devault ran 26:55, and Phillipi's J.R. Luster ran 27:42 for third.

The women's race was no contest, with WVU's Canadian star Tara Struyk leading from the beginning. Fresh off a 5k/10k double at the NCAA Championships, Struyk showed she was still in good form with an awesome 28:44.

WVU Medical student Sara Walker ran 30:27 for second. Recent University High School graduate Maria Stover was third in 34:02

After the race, everyone got to enjoy some Brew Pub beverages, pasta, and salad, an easy way to keep the racers entertained while waiting for results.
