Starting on a hot evening
Always a unique addition to the MAGP Series, the WV Brew Pub Twilight 5-Miler is an evening event favorite of locals and out-of-towners alike. With a mostly flat course, and a finish that features a full dinner, brews and more, this race never seems to disappoint the masses.

Over 175 people showed up to enjoy this local run with all of it's after event bonuses. The brief shower an hour before the event seemed to cool the temps ever so slightly, without effecting the off road portion of the race.

Just cruising the trail
The pace of the race was just seconds off last year's winning time. Travis Simpson from Weirton, WV was the first runner to make his way to the finish line with a time of 26:08. Morgantown runner, Ryan Skotnicki, posted the second place time of 26:58, and Eric Anderson (27:56) came across the line in third.

From the womens division, Jackie Horvath, from Pennsylvania was first to break the tape with a time of 31:45. Some minutes behind her was Leah Erenrich(33:50), who captured second place. Five seconds behind her, was Kelly Holipsky,(33:55:38) in third. For the 2nd year in a row, the walking category title went to a familier face. Craig Baer finished first overall in the walk with a time of 28:53.

Enjoying the evening...
For all of those who have not attended this event, you are missing out on a great one. Two of my favorite things in the world are Morgantown, WV and beer. I enjoy just watching and taking pictures, but if I were an avid runner or walker I would certainly put this event at the top of my list. It doesn't matter whether you win or just do it for fun because the rewards are the same for everyone at the end. Don't miss out, I'll be looking for you next year.
