Racing fun in Point Marion
All who participated in the seventh annual Albert Gallatin Regatta 5K were treated to a scenic, fun evening, and the chance to contribute to a great cause. The proceeds from the race helped to relieve some of the medical expenses of local Point Marion runner, Kenny Frankenberry. Kenny was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease three years ago. Race Director, Mary Hubeaut, explained that the proceeds will help Kenny with the high medical bills that he has incurred fighting the disease.

The 5K course wound it's way through the small town, crossing the steel bridge over the Monongahela River, along the river on a road to a turn around point. Brandon Miles of Grafton, WV a senior at Grafton High School, was the first male to cross the finish line in 17:13. "The course was good." mentioned Miles, "Just hot out there."
