The Big Bear Ultra is part of the WVMBA ultra series. It is a mountain bike race that tests the participants, endurance & ability. Only well conditioned cyclists should attempt this event.

Racing at Big Bear

Details:

• Saturday, August 8, 8:00 am start
• 50 mile Approximate distance
• WVMBA ultra series event # 7
• Cost: $60 WVMBA members, $65 non-members
• Tee shirts to all racers with food and beverages afterwards
• Classes: All WVMBA Ultra Classes (men and women open, masters, single speed)

Registration: will be open Friday evening between 6 and 9pm and Saturday morning at 7am.

Course: consists of a 50 mile single track loop. The course will be well marked. Please be aware, due to the length and nature of the course it is up to the racer to watch for the signs.

There is no cut off in 2009

Aid: At least 4 aid stations will be in place with water and snacks.

Camping on site: Free primitive camping at start/finish area. RV and Tent site camping with electric and near the shower/bathroom is $10 a person, children under 5 are free.

To get to Big Bear Lake take I-68 to the Hazelton Exit (WV exit 29) and go south (left if you are coming on I-68 West, right if you are coming on I-68 East). Follow this road 3 miles to the guard shack at Big Bear Lake.
