The mission is to raise money for Mon County Habitat for Humanity and to create a fun community event that highlights Morgantown's superb recreational facilities and encourage people to exercise.

Individual heats begin between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Relay heats will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m. Exact start times dependent on number of participants. Start times are never guaranteed!

Awards

The Adults and Teams awards ceremony will begin immediately after the race followed by a Family Fun Day at Marilla Pool. Pool and slides will be open for FREE for all participants, families and volunteers. Entertainment and refreshments will be available.

Saturday, August 28, Adults and Teams

  • Swim // 330 yards (10 x lengths of Marilla Pool)
  • Bike // 11 miles on paved rail trail from Marilla Park to Star City and back
  • Run // 5 kilometers from Marilla Park east toward Summer School Road and back

  • Mandatory Race Meeting:
    Fri. August 27 at 6:00 p.m. or Sat. August 28 at 6:00 a.m.

  • Types of Teams: All Male, All Female, Mixed, and Family
  • Age Categories: Under 20; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over.

Friday, August 27, KIDS Triathlon at 6:45 p.m.

  • Swim // 66 yards (2 lengths of Marilla Pool)
  • Bike // 1.5 miles
  • Run // .5 miles

    Short course for kids under 14.

    The focus of the Kids race is fun and participation, therefore the Kids race WILL NOT BE TIMED. Kids must be able to swim unassisted (no help from parents or floating devices). Kids under 14 are allowed in the Adult/Team races if they are physically qualified to do so. Each kid will receive a participant award as they finish their race.

Adult Age Group Awards

Awards will be given to overall male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers, male and female winners in each age category (1st, 2nd, 3rd), the 1st , 2nd and 3rd place team in each relay category (male, female, mixed, family).

There are 2 new categories this year, Athena and Clydesdale. Athena entrants are women over 150 lbs, and Clydesdale entrants are over 200 lbs. If you are entering in one of these two new categories please make sure to fill out the weight category on the online entry form.

Adult Age Categories

Under 20; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over

Timing

The Triathlon on Saturday will be scored by Runner's High using ChampionChip timing equipment. On race day, runners will be issued a rental computer chip which is attached to the shoe lace and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish will record a finishing time for each chip. All rental chips must be returned at the finish line.

Volunteers Needed

We need your help to make this another successful event. If you would like to volunteer for manning the trail, distributing water to participants, directing participants in the transition area, or helping in various other ways with the event.

    Volunteer times for Saturday, August 28, 2010 are:

    6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
