WHEN: Saturday, August 21, 1999
RACE START TIMES: 8:05 AM
WHERE: The Races start at 3rd & Julia Streets at the Towne Square Parking Garage entrance and Finish on 6th and Market Streets.
REGISTRATION: 6:00-7:30 AM on race day. Pre-registration is recommended. Absolutely NO registration after 7:30 AM on race day!
Walkers are encouraged to enter also, just yield to the runners and start in the back.
PACKET PICK-UP: Packets may be picked up in the Municipal Building, 2nd floor, 2nd and Market Streets entrance, from 2:00-9:00 PM, Friday August 20th. Packets may also be picked up on Race Day beginning at 6:00 AM.
ALL TEAMS PACKET PICK-UP: Packets are to be picked up only by
the individuals they are registered to unless prior notification
or written permission is given. The name of the Team Representative
who will be picking up the team packets must be submitted at the time
of team registration or by phone in order to pick up the packets.
In the event that a name is not indicated at the time of registration,
written permission must be submitted at time of packet pick-up.
* Team Category entry forms MUST be mailed together and received
by Wednesday, August 18, 1999. No Exceptions!
ENTRY FEE:
The Entry Fee is $8.00 and must be postmarked by July 31, 1999.
The Entry Fee is $10.00 if postmarked by August 2, 1999 or later.
2 MILER AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to the top 10 overall winners in the Men's and Women's divisions. Trophies will also be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each of the Men's & Women's age groups listed below. No award duplications in the overall and age group categories will occur.
2 MILER AGE GROUPS: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over.
FUN RUN AWARDS:
A trophy will be awarded to the team with the most finishers.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place overall trophies will be awarded in each category
below. Trophies will also go to the oldest & youngest Males and
Females in the race.
FUN RUN CATEGORIES:
- Clydesdale
Four weight divisions and two age groups are offered for this event. Men 40 years & under and 41 years & over, 185-199 pounds, 200-214 pounds, and 215+ pounds, and Women 40 years & under and 41 years & over at 145+ pounds. Trophies will be awarded 3 deep in each division. All Clydesdale participants must weigh in at the 2 Mile Registration area in the Municipal Building on Friday evening from 2:00-9:00 PM or Saturday from 6:00-7:00 AM. - Healthcare Teams
Includes teams of Healthcare workers or support groups.
Examples: Physicians, Paramedics, Parkersburg Diabetic Assoc., etc.
Only Employees or Members are permitted on the Healthcare teams! - Corporate/Business Teams
Includes teams from any business, excluding the healthcare industry.
Only Employees are permitted on the C & B teams! - Special Interest Teams
Any other team that may want to participate such as Rotary, Lions Legion, Women's club, VFD, etc. - Centipede Teams
At least 4 participants must participate and finish the race "connected" in some way! - Family Teams
These teams must consist of family members only.
(Mother, Father, children, cousins, Aunts, Uncles...) - Costume
Participants in this category are eligible for other awards. They are permitted to participate in the age category, a special category, and the costume category. Participants must report to the registration table at 7:00 AM on race day for judging.
