Lottie Newton shows that you are never too young to run

Blue skies, sunshine, and a warm friendly atmosphere made sure that the
Leprechaun 5k Run was fun and enjoyable for everyone involved. Coming
off of a week's postponement, the weather appeared unpredictable as
always, but the running conditions on Sunday were beautiful. The
course went along Old River Road in beautiful Boaz, just north of
Parkersburg. In the Mens Overall, Mike Taylor(17:59), kept a
consistent, steady pace and cruised to a first place finish only 21
seconds ahead of Tom Laframboise(18:20). In perhaps the closest race
of the day, Tom Kramer(28:06) edged out Willis Ridenour(28:07) in a
good-hearted duel for the Mens 60-64 division.

Mike Taylor takes 1st place in the race and the overall series
|
In the Womens Overall, it was Sharon Marks(24:03) who took first
place, with Connie Hurst(24:29) and Lou Ann Cottrell(24:59) finishing
a close second and third, respectively.
This was the third and final RCR Series run, and the Mens Series
Champion is Mike Taylor, and the Womens Series Champion is Sharon Marks.
Afterwards, everyone convened for awards and
conversation, but for some the highlight of the day was the incredible
chocolate chip cookies prepared for the participants. Thanks, they
were great!
