Time to synchronize the watches
Fifty-five runners turned out on what became a very warm and humid morning for the Second Annual Shenandoah University 5K. The race benefits the school's cross country teams and many team members were in attendance helping with registration and serving as course marshals. Chris Northrup, who works for the university in it's fundraising department served as race director.

Local attorney Mark Vann won the race in 18:19 beating 46-year-old second place finisher Neal ("I write this drivel") Riemenschneider (18:42). In the women's race, 43 year old Ruth Riemenschneider took the win with a finish time of 20:53. Finishing second was Warren County running sensation 14 year old Christina Moore in 21:54.

A little racing for everyone
Other notable finishers include the 70s bunch: Bob Atkins (75), Robie Cone (77) and John MacCraken (74). All three of these high steppin' dudes is an inspiration to all of us.

Kudos to the above mentioned Northrup for another fine event and special thanks to the Shenandoah Valley Runners Club jack-of-all tradesman Karsten Brown for supplying the results in another timely fashion.

And the humblest apologies from Shea Riemenschneider who took over 70 pictures but only had 5 that weren't blurry. She promises to do better next time with the expensive camera she suckered her hapless parents into buying for her!
