Earth Day 5K-MAGP Sprint #3
The Earth Day 5K has been organized to create awareness of environmental issues and to inform our county residents of what they can do locally to help improve the quality of our Earth. Race registration fees will help fund a small grant program for community or educational environmental projects. This event is new to the MAGP Series this year.
The inaugural Earth Day 5K is an event of Impact E.A.R.T.H. (Environmental Awareness and Respecting Tomorrow's Home) which draws attention to our environment and local efforts to improve it.
Impact E.A.R.T.H. is a day-long event inspired by Earth Day that takes place on Saturday April 19th at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Ampitheatre on the waterfront after the Earth Day 5k. It will include many festivities such as a volunteer community cleanup, environmental education booths, live music, food, and children's activities.
Registration: The race fee is $15 per person if postmarked by April 11, 2008, and $20 if sent after this date or received on race day. Race day registration will be held between 9:45-10:30 a.m. All fees are non-refundable.

RACE DETAILS
When: Saturday, April 19th. The 5K run and walk begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. The fun run will start at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Where: The course will begin on the rail trail at the riverfront near the Hazel Ruby McQuain Ampitheatre. It will proceed toward Marilla Park with a mid-point turnaround. Parking will be available at the bus depot at the waterfront.

Timer: Race timing will be provided by SERJ
Post-Race: Racers will enjoy post-run refreshments and a live band performance as they cross the finish line. Runners are welcome to take part in Impact E.A.R.T.H. activities directly following the race.
T-Shirts: Tee shirts will be guaranteed to all participants who register by Friday, April 11th.
Awards: Awards will be distributed to the top three male and top three female runners in each of the following age categories: 11-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60+.
Awards will go to the top three male and top three female walkers.
