Guest Starring Santa Claus as Race Starter!
EVENTS: Competitive 5K race, 2 Mile Fun Walk (no awards), Flurry Fun Run for Kids.
ENTRY FEE: Race fee is $20.00 for registrations postmarked by November 30, 2009. Fee for registrations postmarked after November 30, 2009 and on race day will be $25.00. Fees are not refundable.
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 6th the 5K Race and Fun Walk begins at 2:00 p.m. Race Day registration starts at 12 Noon and ends at 1:45 p.m.
WHERE: The start and finish for both events are located at Krepps Park on Patteson Drive (across from WVU Coliseum) in Morgantown, WV.
BENEFITS: Proceeds will be forwarded to SteppingStones. Race day donations to the fund are welcome.
FLURRY FUN RUN FOR KIDS: The Flurry Fun Run for kids aged 10 & under will be held adjacent to Krepps Park at 1:45 p.m. Parents must register their child and sign the liability waiver on the application blank in this brochure. All finishers will receive an award. There is a kid's registration fee of $5.00. Pre-registered participants will receive a child's-sized T-Shirt. T-Shirts for race day registrations are not guaranteed.
FOOD & REFRESHMENTS: Hot & cold food & refreshments will be served to participants courtesy of the Back Bay Seafood & Steak Restaurant. Friends & family members are invited to attend the post-race meal for a $5.00 per person donation (all proceeds go to SteppingStones).
AWARDS:
- 5K RACE - Top three overall Male & Female finishers. Top three
Male & Female finishers in each of the following age groups:
14 & Under 25-29 40-44 55-59 15-19 30-34 45-49 60-64 20-24 35-39 50-54
- Note: The top two Male & Female finishers in each of the following age groups: 65-70, 70 & over.
CASH AWARD FOR COURSE RECORD: The Morgantown RoadRunners will award $100.00 to The male/female who sets a new course record for The 5K run. Existing records:
Men: 1994 + Rick Fuller + 15:11
Women: 2000 + Heather Bury + 17:20
FINISH/RESULTS: Computerized timing and scoring will be provided by WV Track Club. Results will be posted in Krepps Park following the race.
T-SHIRTS: The first 150 registrants will receive a long-sleeve T-Shirt. Additional T-Shirts may be available but cannot be guaranteed.
COURSE: A 3.1 mile loop through the Suncrest area of Morgantown. Water will be available on The course. Split times will be given at the 1 mile Marker. Due to safety concerns no bicycles, strollers, roller skates/blades, or pets will be permitted on the course. Traffic control will be provided by the Morgantown Police Department.
