FBI Race
We're all winners today
September 11th will forever be remembered as a day where tragedy struck the US. Some West Virginians chose to spend their time this September 11 running a 5K race at the Jerry Dove FBI Center.

Race participants and the general public remembered the many men and women killed in the line of duty and citizens lost during 9-11. Jerry Dove, who the race is named in remembrance of, was honored for his heroic actions while attempting to apprehend criminals associated with the Miami Firefight.

FBI Race
Running to the finish
Race Director, Lisa Stout, ran a terrific race with the help of 50 FBI employees and over 260 race participants. Larry Taylor of Fayetteville, West Virginia took 1st place with a time of 16:21 (5:16 pace). Ryan Johnson crossed the line 2nd at 17:57 (5:47), and Ken Lavietoire finished with a solid 18:47 (6:01), for 3rd.

Jessica Huff claimed 1st for the women in 21:02 (6:47 pace). Alyssa Ruberto, a 13-year old running star from Fairmont, WV took an impressive 2nd place with a time of 22:22 (7:13). Briana Cicero crossed the line with a time of 22:46 (7:20) to round out the top female spots.

FBI Race
Among friends and family
Sgt. Micheal Beaver, President of the West Virginia FBI National Academy Associates, distributed trophies and medals. The organization is a group of elite FBI agents who attend specialized training. Sgt. Danny Swiger, a graduate of the Academy and an officer with the WV State Police, lended a hand. Many members of the academy assist in a variety of FBI sponsored events.

Thanks to the many contributing sponsors who made this event possible: Kroger,Culligan Water, Panera Bread, Pepsi, Walmart, and Winners Choice Trophies. Special thanks to the 264 participants, volunteers, and public who came out to cheer everyone on and remember our fallen heroes.
